Component Alignment

There are several ways you can do alignment in Elixir Report:

  1. Use Up/Down/Left/Right arrows to move report elements by 10 pixels.
  2. Use Alt-Up/Down/Left/Right arrows to move report elements by 1 pixel.
  3. Click on horizontal and vertical rulers surrounding the design area to place a ruler across the report. Drag the red arrow marker to move them around. Right click to remove. These rulers allow alignment or resizing of elements to snap to this "grid", even across different "bands" in the report.
  4. Place Horizontal and Vertical Boxes, or nest them within each other to create a cell structure. Then drag and drop data fields from top right Data tab, or point and click any report elements in the vertical toolbar to place them inside the cells. That way, they are automatically aligned based on the cell structure.
  5. Shift-click (within same band) to select multiple elements and right-click to select Align->Left/Right/Top/Bottom/Center Vertical, or to Size->Widest/Narrowest/Tallest/Shortest.

Also, you can zoom in on the designer to aid in fine adjustment.
